Twitter have been registered 1 million apps.

Twitter has announced that they had registered a million apps built by 750,000 developers on the popular microblogging online social services website.
Since December 2010, more than $500 million has been invested in ecosystem companies, and more than a billion dollars has been paid out in acquisitions,” wrote Twitter. “This level of investment is indicative of the opportunity for developers and entrepreneurs to build successful businesses as part of the Twitter platform.”
Word of the milestone came as the San Francisco-based startup launched a new website at dev.twitter.com for software developers interested in tailoring fun, hip or functional programs for Twitter.
A new Twitter application is registered every 1.5 seconds, with the number of "apps" soaring from 150,000 a year ago, according to the startup and the site built using the open-source website building tool Drupal -- will have a discussion forum for developers to talk to one another and connect, a new developer blog and improved Apps management tools, among other features
Founded in 2006, more than 200 million people are reported to use the service for sharing news, thoughts, pictures and more in text messages of 140 or fewer characters.
